How Slack gifting works.

Connect the workspace
A team owner or approver opens Integrations in Printonic, finds Slack and clicks Connect Slack. A Slack workspace admin approves the install once for the whole workspace.

Link your own account
Each colleague clicks Generate my link code on the same Integrations page, then types /printonic link CODE in Slack. The code works once and expires in ten minutes.

Type /printonic and fill in the form
Sent on its own, /printonic opens a Send a gift form: choose from your catalog, add the recipient’s name and email, and write an optional card message. Submit it to get a priced preview back in Slack.

Approve, then let the recipient finish
An owner or approver confirms the total from the approval card or the dashboard. The recipient then gets a private link to enter their shipping address and choose any options you left open.

Previews and approval cards usually arrive within a minute. Message delivery is separate from payment: a failed message never means a gift was charged twice.

A few useful answers.
How do colleagues know the command exists?
The Printonic app tells them. Typing /printonic on its own opens the gift form, and /printonic help lists every action. The Integrations page in Printonic shows the same three steps: connect the workspace, generate a link code, then send /printonic link CODE in Slack.
Can someone spend our money straight from Slack?
No. A chat request never pays for itself. It is priced, then held in the approval tray until an owner or approver confirms the actual total, within the budgets your team already set.
Do I need to know a catalog slug?
No. The form has a gift picker. The typed form, gift slug | email | name | message, still works for people who prefer it, but nobody has to memorize anything.
What can I do besides sending a gift?
Type /printonic approvals to review a pending request (or approval 123 for a particular one), and /printonic status to see your five most recent sends. Use the website for buyer-selected options, artwork changes and bulk gifts.
Does the recipient see the price?
No. They get a private link showing the gift, your card message and an address form. The packing slip shows no prices either.
